Just Wait

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried.
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the master so gently said, “Child, you must wait!"

"Wait?” you say, "Wait!" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!"
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By FAITH I have asked, and am claiming your word.

"My future and all to which I can relate
Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to WAIT?
I'm needing a "yes", a go ahead sign
Or even a "no", to which I can resign.

"And Lord, you promised that if we believe
We need but to ask, and we shall receive.
And Lord, I've been asking, and this is my cry:
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply!"

Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate
As my Master replied once again, "You must wait."
So, I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut
And grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting...for what?"

He seemed then to kneel and his eyes wept with mine,
And he tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heaves, and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead, and cause mountains to run.
All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be.
You would have what you want...but you wouldn't know
ME.

You'd not know the depth of my love for each saint;
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint;
You'd not learn to see through clouds of despair;
You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there;
You'd not know the joy of resting in me
When darkness and silence were all you could see.

You'd never experience that fullness of love
As the peace of my spirit descends like a dove;
You'd know that I give and save...for a start,
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of my heart.

The glow of my comfort late into the night.
The faith that I give when you walk without sight,
The depth that's beyond getting just what you asked
Of an infinite God, who makes what you have LAST.

You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that "My grace is sufficient for thee"
Yes, your dreams for your loved ones overnight would
come true, but oh, the LOSS!
If I lost what I'm doing in you!

"So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see
THAT THE GREATEST OF GIFTS
IS TO GET TO KNOW ME.
And though oft may my answers seem terribly late,
My wisest of answers is still but to WAIT."

Every job plays a role in shaping the world

Very often, communication and public relations are being viewed by the society in a negative perception, a career that does not have a bright future or not earning well compared to professional jobs like doctors, engineers, accountants, lawyers. The media plays a significant role in changing perception, conveying message to the public and as trasmitting social values powerfully to educate the people. The movies you watch, the music you have been listening too through the radio, the magazines and newspapers you been reading are all media. Communication is about transforming a half-bitten apple into a world icon, turning and eccentric idea to a business success and the list goes on. We are being influence by the media daily without even knowing it. Without communication, life would be liveless. As a communication student, I'm proud to be one.

I believe every occupation plays an important role in shaping the world.
The world needs doctors to cure the sick.
The world need leaders who cares about the people, justice and human rights.
The world needs marketers and advertisers to satisfy the needs and wants of the consumers.
The world needs engineers to build the home we live in and the road we travel on.
The world needs media practitioners to convey a persuasive message or communication.
The world needs journalists to inform the news and educate the society.
The world needs lawyers to uphold justice and human rights.
Even a rubbish collector and a sweeper is important to keep the city clean.

Therefore, it is important to know that our career path is driven not only for the high salary but driven by passion and service to the nation. We need to start learning to respect and appreciate the jobs of people from different walks of life. Every occupation no matter is big or small, plays a role in the society. We just need to realise there's a purpose behind every occupation we are in.

Langkawi Day 2

Pictures, more pictures in Langkawi.. An amazing place to go wild, spending quality time with your circle of friends.

Totally random. The passerby must be thinking what this group of girls trying to do in the middle of the road. It left me breathless as we have been jumping for over 7 times to make sure it's perfect.

Island hopping was my favourite activity throughout the 3 days in Langkawi. The wind was so strong that you certainly don't need a hair dryer to dry your hair. Thank God, my friend DSLR didnt slipped through her fingers and went straight down to the ocean.

Well, you can certainly hear a group of lunatic girls screaming their hearts out and giggling with joy in the middle of the ocean.. Tasik Dayang Bunting was a fascinating place for a holiday. The sight of green mother nature cannot be described with words until your very own eyes has actually viewed it. The sound of the waves hitting the rocky stones and the beat of the trees dancing to it's rhythm.

The monkeys over here are pretty cute.. hee hee.. One that really captures my heart is the little one with super huge eyes hugging it's mummy. Reminds me of my mum.. Awww~

The lake was quite scary at first, especially it's dark green color. I was quite relunctant to jump in without the life jacket even though I am a swimmer... I admit, I'm a scardy cat.. but prevention is better than cure.. =P

The next destination would be Kota Kinabalu. I will be waiting for you...

Where is the Love? Campaign

Life in semester 6 was crazy.. rushing assignments deadlines back to back, burning midnight oil, planning and organising 'Where is the Love' exhibition. Coming out with the concept was a disaster. Brainstorm, mind-map, sketch, research.. Like what my lecturer told us, "when you are in advertising, your project becomes your baby." Her prediction was right. I literally eat eith Adidas and there were times I even dreamt about it or having nightmare.

Managing your team for a big event is ain't easy. I apologised for being an 'auntie' that keeps reminding the task you are assigned and being too demanding. I guessed the word Perfectionist describe me best..lol. Above all, I had a lot of fun that day. Getting praises from other faculty lecturers and seeing their smiles on their face was an achievement.

At the end of the day, I felt great. A sense of accomplishment. Imagine all the hardwork and effort you put in, and what you got was a masterpiece! Thanks guys...

Snapshots of the day..

Credits goes to Calvin for his design.

Look at the crowd.. heehee

Smile, though your Heart is Aching..

Smile, though your Heart is aching..

1. Smiling Makes Us Attractive

Smile is THE Attraction Factor..

2. Smiling Changes Our Mood

Girls, you don't need to stuff those fattening chocolate down your throat when your feeling down.. Try smiling, is fat-free. Smiling can trick your body into helping you change your mood. Pretty amazing huh??

3. Smiling Is Contagious

Smiling spreads the joy virus all around.

4. Smiling Relieves Stress

The day when everything went wrong, tonnes of problem waiting to be in your solving lists, assignments due tomorrow and exam is 2 weeks away. Smiling helps to prevent us from looking tired, worn down, and overwhelmed. When you are stressed out, take time to put on a BIG smile. A smile a day, keep stress away!

5. Smiling Boosts Your Immune System

Smiling helps the immune system to work better. It prevents flu and colds. Especially the H1N1 epidemic is on, smile is your best vitamin.

6. Smiling Lowers Your Blood Pressure

When you smile, there is a measurable reduction in your blood pressure. Give it a try if you have a blood pressure monitor at home. Sit for a few minutes, take a reading. Then smile for a minute and take another reading while still smiling. Do you notice a difference?

7. Smiling Releases Endorphins, Natural Pain Killers and Serotonin

Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin. Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is a natural drug.

8. Smiling Lifts the Face and Makes You Look Younger

The muscles we use to smile lift the face, making a person appear younger. You can forget about getting a face lift, botox and yada yada.. Just try smiling your way through the day -- you'll look 10 years younger and feel better. (I'm eXXagerating)

9. Smiling Makes You Seem Successful

Smiling people appear more confident, are more likely to be promoted, and more likely to be approached. Put on a smile at meetings and appointments and people will react to you differently. You can't be going for an interview with your plum face.. =)

10. Smiling Helps You Stay Positive

Try this test: Smile. Now try to think of something negative without losing the smile. It's hard. When we smile our body is sending the rest of us a message that "Life is Great, man!" Say goodbye to depression, stress and worry by smiling.

Farewell MJ..

I'm saddened by the death of Michael Jackson.. The man that brought music to life. Leaving a legacy behind with his inimitable moonwalk, mind-blowing dance moves, his brilliant musical arrangement and furthermore his passion in making a difference in the world of music and reality. His MTV is simply unique as it has a hidden meaning beneath it and expresses the story accurately.

MJ put full use of his talent in inspiring the young generation and the world about humanitarianism. I still remembered his songs ‘We are the World’, ‘Black or White’ and ‘Heal the World’ conveying the message of unity and love. Not forgetting, his heart of gold and compassion to the less fortunate and children.

MJ’s death reveals that we take things for granted when our loved ones are here with us. And when they are gone, regret haunts us for not appreciating and cherishing them with our love and care.

His contribution to humanity and music will never be forgotten throughout the years, but will be memorised in the hearts of many.

Farewell MJ..
